"To start with I love how friendly and welcoming you are to everyone.  I remember being nervous and self conscious at the start of my 1st class but those feelings soon disappeared and I can see that with the newbies they quickly feel at ease.

 

The way you explain the positions is easy to follow.  I like that you show different levels of each position and encourage everyone.  I like trying to give the harder level a go and an achievement when I manage to do it.

 

The pace and showing different positions is great.  Also, your attention to each individual is great, you know when to give guidance and a helping hand.

 

I love that the class is relaxed and everyone is smiling and chatting now. It is a safe place and that one hour is so calming and peaceful it helps with stress.  The candles and atomiser creates a lovely atmosphere too.

 

I am so happy to be able to come to your class and be taught by you, as you're an inspiration. I really look forward to coming to practice. 

 

Yoga definitely has made a difference to me.

Thursday Hatha Yoga Class 2022

"I think you can tell from my face when I leave you just what you’re class does for me. ☺️

 

Thursday was a busy day a lot of rushing about I didn’t really feel “in the mood” I left feeling so calm. Just a fantastic feeling of well being which I only get when I leave your class. 

 

Yoga has been a slow burner for me. At first I was only interested in the physical benefits. I liked the small changes in my body but I found the breathing made me feel a little anxious if I’m honest. Now I’m finally starting to understand it and I’m really starting to feel the benefits mentally and emotionally too. 

 

I love the Thursday class. The people are all so lovely and genuine. And you create an environment where I feel safe to grow and challenge myself.

 

Im so glad I started my yoga journey with you Emma you’re an inspiration.

"I became interested in practising yoga whilst trying to research ways to improve my lower back pain and general mobility because of the limitations of my lower back issues. I had played netball and squash and was generally very sporty all my life, but this has taken its toll,  through overplaying, on my joints, especially my lower spine. I have had steroid injections, nerves burned around the disc because of sciatica pain and also been using a chiropractor on a monthly maintenance programme. These have all been successful in their own right, but I needed to find something that was sustainable and beneficial for the whole of my body as I am 61 years old and am conscious now of my well-being, both mentally and physically.

Yoga has certainly delivered on all these levels! 

I started with you some months ago now with my sister ( who is 74 years old and has never done yoga either before) and almost immediately could feel the benefit of yoga stretching, for example, I used to struggle walking first thing in the morning with short tendons in my legs, and suddenly I could get up and walk generally up and down the stairs. Initially, I ached a little in the early weeks after each session but the beauty of yoga is that you have different levels of poses so that you can practise what suits you. I have found over the last 18 months that I have progressively been able to stretch out so much further and maintain poses longer without any issue. My balance still needs improvement, and am working on those core exercises, but I honestly have to say that it has been a transformation for me in my general posture, mental well-being and all over health. I will never be as advanced as you, but I can certainly recommend it to everyone of all abilities and proof that you are never too old to start!
