WHAT IS YOGA NIDRA?
Yoga Nidra, is often known as 'Yogic Sleep' it is a meditation and conscious relaxation practice that is intended to induce total physical, mental and emotional relaxation. It goes far beyond deep relaxation to a place of natural peace and quiet that is tremendously healing.
An hour of Yoga Nidra can be as restorative as four hours of regular sleep, how amazing is that!
There are several stages of Yoga Nidra:
Stage 1: Bringing relaxation, a calm mind while the body feels heavy and deeply relaxed.
Stage 2: Brings an inner stillness as relaxation progresses further.
Stage 3: Slowly brings that interval between being awake and asleep, remaining alert and aware with a spacious, timeless feeling that is extremely peaceful while your mind and body sleep.

What Participants say about Emmas Yoga Nidra Sessions:

"I was a little anxious about the 2 hour session. So wasn't certain I'd be able to get through it. But. Blimey Emma. You made it so welcoming, Some moves, poses I'd not done before. Non of the standard Warrior and other poses. Whucb suited me tbh. As I've just got over a head cold and not at my best. But the focus on the internals you mentioned, it made sense. So enjoyable, so relaxing, such a wonderful way to spend a Sunday afternoon, getting a mind and body 'fix' ahead of the Spring Equinox was perfect.
Im going to guess that, and it feels like you've spent hours, days preparing for this treat for us. I could have that once or twice a month on a Sunday afternoon. The time of day was brilliant too. Eat early or wait and eat later in the day.
The meditation was outstanding and I was in and out of hearing you. My mind wondered and then came back to hearing you. And the last 5-10 minutes of coming back to awakening was quite a thing. I was gone, I have no idea where but I was out of it. The way you bought us round, the Chocolate, the flowers. You are truly amazing and I thank you for what you share with us. I first came to you for the Hanbury Hall Orangery sessions, which were absolutely eye opening and made me feel so mucb better. It was like the noise had gone and now this. It was wonderful. It's not often we get such an opportunity like that. Thank you Emma".

"Emma - the talent you have for supporting me to balance my physical and mental wellbeing within one session is amazing. Your calmness, clear instruction, patience and support means that I do not feel self-conscious and I can truly relax into the wonderful experience. I think a yin/yoga nidra should be at least a monthly event to allow me to shake off any debilitating beliefs/emotions that may have occurred during that month and to move into a new month with a renewed sense of self confidence and worth. You are right, yoga enters when we need it but a fabulous instructor such as yourself makes it a reality. I do hope you are able to undertake some more sessions, I realise you are moving in different direction at the moment however if you hadn’t entered my life last Feb (at the Tardebigge) and then offered the sessions you did last year I would have spiralled downwards."
